American Heart Challenge
American Heart Challenge
Dear Parent/Guardian:
In February, Steele Creek Elementary is holding our annual Kids Heart Challenge event. Kids Heart Challenge is a fun event! It encourages community service and is educational. Our students will learn jump rope skills while raising money to fund lifesaving research and educational programs sponsored by the American Heart Association.
Our school also earns gift certificates for physical education equipment and with our tight budget, this comes in handy. Family and friends are welcome to support your child’s participation by making contributions. Your child will be raising funds on-line. Step by step instructions about our simple on-line donations program are provided on Canvas through the parent guide. The students in grades K-5 will be given the opportunity to fundraise. Just go to heart.org/kidsheartchallenge
If your employer has a matching gifts program, please indicate the matched amounts on the student’s collection envelope and include the matching gifts form with your donation. Matching gifts increase donations making your child and the event more successful. Go to www.matchinggifts.com/aha to check to see if your company matches.
An excellent goal for your child is to raise at least $50.00 and receive their own personal t-shirt for their effort. Your child will receive thank you gifts based on the amount of contributions they collect as well. Our school wide goal for this year’s event is $1,500. All Money is due on February 28th but can be collected prior to that date.
Please support our Kids Heart Challenge program!
One important thing to remember … students should not go door to door or ask strangers for money! If you have questions please contact Bret Wilson by clicking the contact me button on the left or call the school phone 980-343-3810.
Sincerely,
Bret Wilson
